I know I said, Hello once, but I want to say it again. Just because you are here and I’m so excited that you are reading my about page. It’s a really big deal to me and even bigger if you read a few of my blog pages. So give me your time and I will tell you about me before I explain how Colorful Dimensions 2 Arts came about. For those who are fans already and notice that the about me page is changed its because this is a new mile stone. This month marks my one year anniversary and we needed a new feel to this page.
Who am I?
Grab your cup of coffee, tea, or flavored water. I can tell you that I am a fan of all three. I usually have flavored water at all times near by. Let’s see where do I want to begin! I am married, a mother to three grown kids, a grandmother. I wear multiple hats and I always have something to keep me occupied. I love music, animals, books, crafts, painting, and drawing. I love photography. My favorite pass time is shopping and reading books. I love gadgets and electronics. I love cars and trucks of all types. I love race cars, and horses. I’m a hard worker, always striving to do better and who’s always tries to be at work on time. I am an Oregonian. I love fishing, clamming and crabbing. I’m not to big on eating crabs but I have a spouse who does. I’ve out grown cooking and baking! I needed some kind of hobby and it seemed that mixed media would be the ideal thing. Then that turned into card making. Then before long in order to make any money you have to have a web store and domain. see next headline.
My Journey
Before I begin I just want to say that I want everyone to feel at peace and welcomed here. I want you to know that you are valued and cherished here in every way. I am grateful for the family, friends, acquaintances, and new friends that have been a part of this journey. My life has had some ups and downs. This blog site is now a year old and every thing here is about everything that could possibly happen from crafting, painting, projects (inside and outside), drawing, cardmaking, coloring and so much more. I even talk about my struggles with starting a online business (selling my cards and other products) to the maintenance of one. I can tell you that my drawing skills are self taught. I started when I was old enough to hold a pencil. When my parents would visit a friend I would practice from looking at the images that were in a phone book. I studied the lines and shapes. As I got older then shading came into play. It wasn’t until later that I studied the light source and shadows. Drawing isn’t my only love. Music is also a big part of who I am. I love music and I listen to almost everything. Music has been and still is a part of my world. My singing started when I was a kid and I haven’t stopped. My grandparents were the teachers, but of coarse it helped to have a mum who loved to sing and play the piano. I have other family members that are just as gifted. Then I was introduced to water color paints. The rest is history! That is until now.
The Business and Crafts
I always wanted my own business. I just wasn’t sure what I wanted it to be or about. It has taken many years to get to this point. The Idea of selling my drawings seemed a little silly to me. My paintings to me weren’t good enough in my eyes. It seemed strange that anyone would want to buy a handmade product. That is until I started paying attention to You Tube and so much more. And here I am! Trying to make a difference in someone’s would thru the love of art, crafts, cardmaking, drawing, blogging and business.
The name of my business has gone thru many changes, and we have updated the name to reflect its products.
I hope everyone finds something that makes them smile whether it’s thru art, crafts, cardmaking, or some other medium. Before all of this, I can tell you that majority of the time my pieces of art end up in the hands of family and friends. The concept of selling my art or crafts online never occurred to me until the year before last. Selling online is a completely new concept to me and I have learned a lot in the last year. I can truly say that I have a lot left to learn and I’m okay with that. I am grateful that there are now platforms that give the opportunity to people such as myself. My aim is that what I learn, I can pass on to others. There is plenty of room for everyone.
