Not to trifle with my internet

You might laugh at me and that’s okay! The story goes like this:

Yesterday, I woke up and doing my usual morning routine. All ready to check things off the ta do list. Here I am already to give my relatives the run down for the day only to discover I have zero internet. I fussed till noon before I couldn’t take it no more. Pull stuff out and unplug stuff. Replug stuff and rearrange where it’s plugged in. Nothin! Okay so it’s not me and it’s not on my end. Mind you this was one of the reasons I upgraded 20+ year old equipment. So maybe I should have just kept the old equipment. By noon, I decided that I’m calling the phone company and all I got was a busy signal. Call two, call three, call four all busy signal. By 8:00pm I had enough and just went to bed. Telling myself I’m gonna call that phone company one more time when I get up the next day. Morning rolls around and I do my usual routine. Wait for the spouse to leave so I can make that phone call. (I don’t want him here to hear what I have to say). Get him out the door and he leaves the drive way. I’m ready. Dial the phone….Ooooo I got thru, oh but wait… I get to talk to the computer and it ensures me it can help me. Great! In the mean time I want to give some body a piece of my mind of this injustice, especially after the cost of the new upgrade. That silly computer system deflated my balloon real fast and it (autonomous) didn’t help at all. At this point, I gave up altogether. Decided that if it wasn’t my new equipment and it periodically comes on and goes off. I wasn’t going to worry to much about it except I do have my peeps and bills that need to be addressed. Here I am the third day, spastic internet. I decided to check to see what I can do on word press in between this erratic internet. Oooooo.. lookie, here I see notifications and can read a bit. Ohhh and look at this. I can write a much needed blog post. Late. But at least I’m getn’r done. Oh! Wait! Can’t post it until the internet comes back on. Ugh! I really need to give that phone company a call to see if I can get a discount for at least not having internet for this long. Maybe tomorrow they will get called again.

Go ahead and laugh. I will laugh too can’t help but laugh. It’s times like these that one doesn’t realize how much one depends on the internet. I use to do a lot of things old school but times have changed so much that this is no longer sustainable. So it’s really distressing when my internet goes down for two days let alone three.

I truly feel for any folks out there that have lost there internet too. Never mind the fact that one can’t run an online business without it.

UPDATE: I want to stress here that I was warned well in advance that the instructions for said equipment above was available online. (Conserving on paper instructions for equipment. You know the drill to save the planet and environment.) Great, I thought and didn’t give it much thought. I did read it but it was well in advance for the equipment to arrive. The bad news is this: Everyday life got in the way and I literally forgot about the instruction book until when? You guess it! Gosh your good at this! Smart people! I love smart people you can learn so much! Anyway, I’m getting off topic here… I did think of those silly instructions until I had zero internet and literally plum forgot even what I read. However, after unplugging this and that.. Eliminated that one item. Oh well it helps to have the right phone cord plug into…… you guessed it again…. the machine that produces the internet. Needless to say folks I wouldn’t be typing this with out it. Buttttttt……. I want to give a heads up to the companies who thought of only providing the instruction book via internet that they offer the option of paper ones…… us rural people as well as the old need them.

Unexpected Rough Times

Hello and Welcome to this weeks post(s). If you have been wondering where I have been these last few days an unexpected rough patch came for me here at Colorful Dimensions 1014. I can not discuss the matter too much. I’m okay, four legged friends are okay, spouse is okay, and business is okay. I do want to mention that when these rough times do come along, it’s really hard to pick one self up and run a business. It’s hard to be on top of everything when your world just crashes. I gave my self permission to grieve for a few days but decided it wasn’t going to bring me down so far that I lose interest in my followers and my business.

I took part of my time to paint another canvas (Dollar General). It’s just a simple canvas and my craft room needed one more add to make it more me. I really liked the saying when I first bought the canvas. However this week the phrase made the meaning, different. I’m not so sure I want it on my wall. I wasn’t even certain I wanted to paint it. It took some convincing for myself to even paint it.

I decided that I will go ahead and paint it. Follow thru with the original plan and see where it leads. It took me roughly two days to paint it. It’s all done now. All water base acrylic used this time and one micro (black) pen. I also went a little wild by adding some stickles glitter. I’m tempted to add some (gold) deco foil. What do you think? See below before and after pictures without the gold deco foil. In some ways it turned out nice and in another makes me ask myself what I was thinking with the background.

Before

What are your thoughts. See below the finish version and hanging as we speak.

Finished
A touch of glitter (stickles)

On to another subject: This became a good time to clean this part of the craft room. It needed it bad. All paper and fabric flowers into one drawer. Buttons into one glass bin. Super long tablets found a drawer that is long enough to handle it. All unnecessary items found a temporary home outside of the craft room. Some items are going to go live with someone else and some will be donated. My point is this, don’t let a bad week take you down so far that you no longer want to function but rather turn the bad into a positive. Clean something, organize something, paint, draw, or do what ever it takes to get your mind off the problem. Grieve yes! Wallow in in it no.
