It’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything. Here I am. Tada! Let me fill you in on what I’ve been up too. I have been creating greeting cards and art this whole time. But of coarse, blogging has been kind of set aside for now.

I’d like to share with you a art piece that I have been working on. I just found it by sorting thru some old stuff in my studio/ craft room. At first there wasn’t much to him but I grabbed my color pencils and proceed to fill him in. In two days time I’ve managed to make a complete picture. His odd shape made it look like he was leaving or being forced some where. Here you can see the results.

At first formation he is just a simple frog from a stencil. Zero detail! I had no plans for the details and no photos to go by to give details. This is all derived from my imagination and experience. Of coarse where I live I encounter frogs almost every where. So lacking the ideal details doesn’t fall short. The same goes for the culvert and of coarse the water. Water is of abundance here. So combine all the elements together. The more tricker part is of coarse, the lighting and shading. Creating these features takes time and a whole lot of practice. The next hard part for me is water. Drawing water, painting water or any other medium of water has been exceptionally hard for me. To combat this problem I started watching other artists paint water. I’m determined to get it right so by watching others you learn very quickly than trying to rehash something on your own over and over again. It’s best to learn from someone a little more experienced. Ha, I’m still not perfect at water but I’m further along than I was a year ago. I can see where I have improved and I can see where I need to grow. I guess that’s all that matters and this little guy now has a place to call home.
