One of my favorite types of paints to work with is Apple Barrel. I love the fact that I can wash it with just soap and water. Easy to use and they are the first paints I grab to create a piece of art.

These are creamy and smooth. It doesn’t take much to create a small painting. I find that they last me awhile. They are in a price range that is affordable for everyone.
As you can see here in this photo that most of my project is created with Apple Barrel Acrylic Paint. You too can create amazing art using Apple Barrel Products.

This painting has story behind it.
Starting with the background
Using a piece of TV dinner cardboard box and some plastic wrap as a paint brush. A technique similar to stippling I created this allusion of antique metal porcelain ware. It comes in as cups, plates, pots and coffee pots.
Using several colors has given this illusion. Then setting aside to dry. While drying I decided that my project needed something a bit more.
Taking two items and put into one
Every year sometime in the summer is a fair. We attend the fair when it’s available. During the fair there is also the rodeo. Most of the time we miss it. But this particular year we were able to attend. I always have my camera on hand for such events. I took tons of photos. This particular photo caught my attention while I was looking for something to add to this project. This cowboy and his horse are actually three different photos in one painting. Can you guess where I was sitting? The rail!
Know your subjects surroundings
Next time I attend these types of functions I’ll make sure to do my homework in knowing the best suitable places to take the best photos. Sitting right where the action might take place such as a railing my not be the best place.
Actual size of painting
This painting isn’t all that big. It’s approximately 5”x 7”. Using recycled cardboard may not been the most suitable art form but it works for me. Maybe I’ll expand my wings and recreate the piece onto canvas. (Go Bigger)
