Each having their share of doctor appointments, ect. With all of this and running a small business things can get pretty over whelming at times. The key is to find ways to balance it all out. Tools to which to live by

1. Stay true to you and love yourself.

  • Make a time slot at least once a week to pamper yourself. (Me: makes a concerted effort to have the nails painted and one good hamburger at the local restaurant once a month)

2. Get your self a good date book… not a electronic one or a smart device. Eventually you lose electricity or some other mishap happens. There is nothing like a writing down in a date book. It’s an art form all of its own. Make sure that you can write lists and have slots for web addresses.

3. Make mental notes of all the things that simply don’t get done.

  • Compile a written list of the things that are not getting done.
  • Compile another list of items that can be donated or resell.
  • Compile another list of all the things that you could downsize on. (Example: All those books or magazines decide which to keep, sell or toss.)

4. Start a habit of writing the date/ year on those items that you normally don’t think about that expires. 🫤 note: Here at Colorful Dimensions 2 Arts lotion is a staple, however it’s most notably that lotion does expire. Favorites get used up and least favorite stick around…. (Crickets) … almost forever. So this year in the trash they go. Yes, guiltily of my own advice.

5. Set a everyday chore list.. things that take longer than a hour to complete. There are many videos and blogs on this so we won’t dwell on this section.

  • Take the list you’ve made and prioritize that list. Now take a chore and see if you can divide it into subsections to be completed. If you can divide that’s okay go to the next one on the list. Take these divided sections and schedule them in your date book. It may seem silly to do it this way but over time you will see an improvement in your schedule in time. It’s not perfect solution but it is fair to say that it works.

6. Take a look at all the bills you have. Are there any that can be set on auto payment? If so, set a few in this fashion that don’t fluctuate with the season. (Meaning those heating bills could zap a bank account before you could put enough funds in it.)

Are there bills that you could pay directly online so you don’t spend an hour or two at the post office? Believe it or not there are people who prefer doing things this way even if it takes up their time.

7. Schedule one day every two weeks to a month just to deliver all those unwanted items to good will. (Try not to go back thru the box)

8. Pets. Prioritize those pet items in the schedule. Bath, grooming, vets, play dates, pet sitters, nail salon, and other essentials.

  • Sometimes little important things can get overlooked in our busy lives. For example: needing to pick up flea supplies every month.

9. With our busy schedules and priorities change so does our expenses. With inflation and uncertainty of the future is important more than ever to look for ways to save and have a contingency savings set up for emergencies or just a savings in general. (Some may call it a rainy day fund).

  • Take items that are listed to resell and sell them. Set the funds into a savings or a rainy day fund. It doesn’t matter if it’s 5 cents this week to a dollar next week. Make a effort to plunk it in. Over time your hard consistent effort will pay off when you need it the most.

10. Do you have any credit cards holding a balance? If so, get them paid off as soon as possible. The continued interest rate hikes are costing more of your hard earned money than ever. (Disclaimer: Colorful Dimensions 2 Arts is not in the business of being a financial expert. This is just an opinion of an area of where savings could be made.)

11. Who doesn’t love savings? Here at Colorful Dimensions 2 Arts is all about savings for products that are loved by all. 12. Purchase a journal you like. I find that ideas pop into my head when I least expect them. So I’ve had to put the brakes on my little bits of paper of notes that just seem to get lost in the sea of my purse. Plus my family complains at how heavy it is. So when you look for a journal make sure it fits nicely in your purse or bag.

  1. You maybe wondering what kinds of things would I put in this journal. Let me give you some examples.
  • 1. Current holiday: decor ideas, any dyi decor ideas
  • 2. Current birthday gifts to be made or purchased.
  • 3. Those pressing business ideas or goals.
  • 4. Anything that is out of the ordinary.
  • 5. School dyi ideas for the kiddos.
  • This saves a lot of hassle of looking for bits of paper and the note taking can be just about anything including how your day went to even how you feel. What did you read? What you don’t like? What you bought and how much it cost? How’s the weather? And so on.

Down below you will find a place to provide your email and other information. We would love to hear from you.
