My love for horses began when I was a child. I dreamed of one day owning my own horse. That reality never came to pass but my love for horses has never diminished. I still try to capture these amazing animals on paper or in photographs. See the illustration below the disclaimer.

Today, here at Colorful Dimensions Arts, getting an earlier start is not so easy. There are many distractions that take over such as the spouse turning on the tv to watch the morning news. A pet demands attention, a few water bowls has to be filled. Breakfast has to be made. The list is endless. If I don’t keep everything scheduled leaving room for unscheduled events I would literally forget every important thing until the last moment. I can tell you as I drink my coffee, I use that time to read stats, messages, and anything that is business related. Eventually the spouse heads out the door to find his projects for the day. This leaves me to tend to just as important matters. The Blog, and all of you who read it. I love it when you read my blog and I am amazed that you have stuck by me for a whole year. Did you know that it’s my one year birthday / anniversary month for Colorful Dimensions Arts, Blog. One Year for https://www.colorfuldimensions1014.com. Just Wow! A New year has just begun here at Colorful Dimensions Arts and some very hard work is just starting to pay off. But before we go any further with this discussion lets get a disclaimer out of the way.

Birthday / Anniversary Celebrations
Every mile stone is celebrated in some way, shape or form. For example, on Instagram when I hit the big 100 follows a cheese cake was made and celebrated virtual with all the followers. Here, its no different. The one Year mark, you all get to have a slice of a beautiful but yummy Chocolate Cake.
A Token Of Appreciation
We would like for you to meet our four legged team who has stuck it out. Who has put up with the countless hours with out the team leader by their side every waking moment. However, one very special team member is away at the moment finding her lunch out side. Starting from the top is Velma, very social, vocal and is the wild child. Charpie, who feels the occasional need to be a cat and chow cat food, needlessly I might add. Hershey, vocal, greeter and the baby. Cupcake socialite, vocal and loves everybody. And of coarse we don’t want to forget last but least Garfield. Without the four legged team members this year would be overly hard. Cupcake who in particular sat at the Studio/Craft room reminding all of what needed to be done. Who rooted for me when no one was there to vocal the rooting. We celebrate and love all our team members.
Velma (Team Leader) Charpie (The Door Bell) currently taking a nap Hershey (the guest greeter), Cupcake ( the sales rep)
I want to mention at no time are the four legged team members are allowed in the studio/craft room at any time. The studio/ craft room is closed session at all times. How ever, the Team leader (me) does take periodically breaks to make sure the entire team is happy, watered and fed.

This article, all future articles, and all the other much needed stuff will not be possible without affiliate links. With that said let me go into a bit of detail on why this particular affiliate is here.
This affiliate just amazes me with their products. For example, “I’m that deer that stares into the headlights” every time I see endless paints, pens, paper, tools, furniture, and so on. I thought I had it bad when I would go to Hobby Lobby only come out and totally forgot where I parked as I was so in thralled with their store. I love Hobby Lobby and I could so easily move in. Who can relate? I mean come on…. its all there. But wait.. This is even better. I could move in with them too. Here they are: https://www.dickblick.com/search/?q=most%20loved
I think they have every art tool in mankind that you could possibly ever want. The cool part is I think they offer more than any other art store I know of. Can you imagine 90,000 + art supplies? Jaw Drop! I mean “Wow”. I personally can not wait to get my hands on some of the more professional paints and brushes. I want one of those sable paint brushes so bad. How about some Jane Davenport Paints? My Wish list is endless and it keeps growing all the time.
Never Far Away
I am always available during normal hours pacific time. I take all messages. I read all comments. If you are ever wanting to know something specific or have a question I’m more than happy to give the answers. If I don’t, have the answer then we will find it together. We are a team.

One of my favorite types of paints to work with is Apple Barrel. I love the fact that I can wash it with just soap and water. Easy to use and they are the first paints I grab to create a piece of art.

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything. Here I am. Tada! Let me fill you in on what I’ve been up too. I have been creating greeting cards and art this whole time. But of coarse, blogging has been kind of set aside for now.

In December I decided to take some time to play with my sketch pencils and practice my drawing skills with a few tutorials that were on ArtSkills Instagram pages. View here: https://www.instagram.com/artskills One in particular just slightly more complicated than what I’m used to doing on my own.
I can say it took me a couple of days to complete. I didn’t want to rush the process and I was more or less aiming at learning the technique. It turned out great. The next day I could see where I could make some improvements. My peers also pointed out where I could improve. I’m gleefully take their advice. See below how it has turned out without touch ups.
What I didn’t anticipate was a huge surprise to me. Artskills wanted to use my picture for Advertising, to help celebrate the Chinese New Year. I gleefully said yes of coarse. I asked them if they had any samples I could try? Mind you, I wasn’t in any way thinking of payment for my Tiger picture. I was simply tickled to death that they asked at all. The next huge surprise to my question was “yes”! They would be happy to send me samples. (Address was given). I wasn’t expecting much and I wasn’t expecting them to actually send anything. Especially with all the current events going. I can tell you I had to look at the Calendar to check to see if it said “Chinese New Year”. It did. According to Artskills, “this year the Chinese New Year zodiac animal is a Tiger”. Talk about leaving me speechless and I didn’t plan that.
Would you believe me if I told you they sent me a huge box full of amazing goodies. I can tell you I have been so excited that I have been playing with their products for over a month now and I’m still not done. Many of the projects completed have been posted to my Instagram and Facebook pages. I’m in the hopes to share them all here soon.
I can say to anyone who may be struggling with the idea if it’s worth all the effort in what you are doing. I can say “yes” to that. Be patient! Good things are coming you just have to keep believing. Don’t give up! If you need to take a much needed break to regroup your self then do so. Don’t stay gone to long! Sometimes it’s a matter of taking a different angle or direction.
I can’t wait to see what happens next in the future. Maybe I’ll finely make some much anticipated money $$. Will see. Just have to keep trying forging forward to my Dreams.
Hang in there don’t get down. Stay positive and keep positive things around you. If don’t! Get somewhere you have those positive vibes. Oh and it helps to seek out people who are into what you want to accomplish. Hugs and see you the next posting.
It’s been awhile since I posted last. I took some time to reflect on what I want the most. Over the past month I had to do some tracing and research to figure out if I’m doing something wrong or if I was doing something right. Im sure that every blogger, Instagramer, tweeter, and business owner can relate. Taking time to reflect on what’s working and not working is not only beneficial to ones inner being but to ones business as whole. I’m sorry to my peeps that have missed me so and wondered where I’ve been. I haven’t been very far away. One could find me on Facebook, Twitter or even on Instagram. Needless to say I have been working my tail off to bring some cards and art to the table.
This month I have taken some time off. Its not been easy to get back into the swing of things after some family members passed away. About all I can do is tackle one project at a time from business to home life. The last things on my ta do list is talk about any ones passing much less have cards on hand for this event. Sympathy cards is not one of my favorite must haves. I have been putting this subject off for a very long time (years). Between last month (June) and this month (July) I’ve managed to make a small handful. But the thought of having just a few isn’t exactly enough. I feel that I need to make more. For a Sympathy Cards the ones I do have turned out fabulous. Before I even began I did do a bit of research, mostly on You Tube. I gathered inspiration and I found myself grabbing supplies. Most of the You tube videos I didn’t even bother to watch. Pictures is all I needed. The first set of cards, I began with the flowers. Theirs was all white, but I chose to go black and white. Once I had the flowers done. The mats and card base became the next steps. I had this one die that I hadn’t even used as it was fairly new. Plopped it down on my first mat and ran it thru the Cuttle Bug. The result was surprising.. Fancy cut.. Anyway, see below for the finished product.
Do you have trouble thinking of your new years resolutions? Do you already have them planned out? I have spent a few days reflecting on what I would like to do. I can say that I’m eager to get started but in small planned out steps. By breaking them down into small steps and schedule a small amount of time for them each day will help insure that the job will either get done or continue on depending what it is. For example, I would like to make a list of prompts to help with art ideas. How many of you journal? I never had journaled. This year I would like to change that and start one.
