About Colorful Dimensions 2 Arts

I am the owner of Colorful Dimensions 2 Arts. I am a visual artist using different mediums. I like to create 3D art, cards, sketches, watercolor and painted canvases. Most of all my art are from reference photos either taken by me or others. All my unfinished projects to finished projects are photographed. I'm married, a mother, and a grandmother. I love animals, music and books. Im always working on something or improving something. I'm a dedicated, a good listener, detailed, and a hard worker.

Unexpected Rough Times

Hello and Welcome to this weeks post(s). If you have been wondering where I have been these last few days an unexpected rough patch came for me here at Colorful Dimensions 1014. I can not discuss the matter too much. I’m okay, four legged friends are okay, spouse is okay, and business is okay. I do want to mention that when these rough times do come along, it’s really hard to pick one self up and run a business. It’s hard to be on top of everything when your world just crashes. I gave my self permission to grieve for a few days but decided it wasn’t going to bring me down so far that I lose interest in my followers and my business.

I took part of my time to paint another canvas (Dollar General). It’s just a simple canvas and my craft room needed one more add to make it more me. I really liked the saying when I first bought the canvas. However this week the phrase made the meaning, different. I’m not so sure I want it on my wall. I wasn’t even certain I wanted to paint it. It took some convincing for myself to even paint it.

I decided that I will go ahead and paint it. Follow thru with the original plan and see where it leads. It took me roughly two days to paint it. It’s all done now. All water base acrylic used this time and one micro (black) pen. I also went a little wild by adding some stickles glitter. I’m tempted to add some (gold) deco foil. What do you think? See below before and after pictures without the gold deco foil. In some ways it turned out nice and in another makes me ask myself what I was thinking with the background.

Before

What are your thoughts. See below the finish version and hanging as we speak.

Finished
A touch of glitter (stickles)

On to another subject: This became a good time to clean this part of the craft room. It needed it bad. All paper and fabric flowers into one drawer. Buttons into one glass bin. Super long tablets found a drawer that is long enough to handle it. All unnecessary items found a temporary home outside of the craft room. Some items are going to go live with someone else and some will be donated. My point is this, don’t let a bad week take you down so far that you no longer want to function but rather turn the bad into a positive. Clean something, organize something, paint, draw, or do what ever it takes to get your mind off the problem. Grieve yes! Wallow in in it no.

Searching for Answers

Happy Memorial Day weekend for those of you who celebrate the holiday. Happy weekend for those that don’t. I had to take a short break from typing, lifting stuff, writing, stretching and pretty much any thing that involved moving muscles after being injected. Few days after I’m almost back to my normal self. Nearly caught up on everyday living stuff and sitting down to do some research. I have found the answer I was looking for. Here it is: Posting everyday on Word Press. In my reality I’m not so certain I can come up with something to say every single day. So that means I’m going to have to come up with a plan to have things lined up to talk about. I am curious as to how many bloggers actually plan out ahead of time what they are going to talk about? How many bloggers use prompts? Maybe when I get going further down the road I’ll throw in a few craft projects.

I would like to take the time to remind everyone that you are now able to sign up for email notifications so that you are able to be notified every time I post. You can do that here if you haven’t done so already:

Sunday Vibes

Its May 23, 2021. The weather is cool, partly sunny and a slight breeze. Today would be perfect to work on a painting project. Yesterday ended up a little to warm and my paint dried faster than I liked it too. I was able to get most of my art project done. I worked from 1:00 til about 6:30pm. Today was more of get household chores done, organize some stuff where I do most of my typing, tending to animals needs and human needs. All of this usually happens after my reserved morning ritual.

I stopped in this afternoon to see what the stats are doing and I noticed that nothing happens on days that I don’t post or schedule a story. So my brain begins to wonder…… am I supposed to post every single day? Hmm, Where to find guidance on this? I wonder, do other newbie bloggers find themselves asking the same questions? Oh and I definitely need to make a plan on what, when, and schedule to write. I have discovered that when the spouse is running around doing his chores is not exactly the best time to type on story. Huge distraction. So I can see where distractions need to be eliminated pronto.

Today is just a slightly relaxed day. This is the day where we spend some time reflecting and deciding on what to do next. Weekends are kept strictly for family time and to gather where we want to go or not go. I just wanted to pop my head in and say hi, just to let you know that I’m on the other side of this screen wondering if at all what I type here is of any interest to you at all or do I need to find another subject to glean on. My art project will get finished and I will show its completion. I’m not sure when I will get to it again but I will make a point to share. I hope all is well with you and that you are having a fabulous Sunday.

Oh, does it sound like I’m running around in circles…..its cuz I am. Colorful Dimensions 1014

Great Strides

Here at Colorful Dimensions 1014 blog page has been a extraordinary journey. Excitement every day for every time the blog gets turned on. Pouring over the notes to make sure nothing is ever missed. Continuously looking for where improvements must be made. Colorful Dimensions 1014 is not certain that every blogger goes thru this ritual everyday but CD1014 can tell you she does. CD1014 can also tell you that she didn’t plan on letting blogging be her everyday occurrence. But it has! Most everything else that has to be done in the Colorful Dimensions 1014 world has largely been ignored until she knows for 100 percent certain that she has this Word Press blogging down correctly. As for the notes: there are things missed or has been forgotten about. These items are important and they will be looked at to ensure that they are done in the correct manner possible. However…..

Battling the confusion

For every time Colorful Dimensions 1014 puts up a new post it is unclear as to whether or not a subscriber widget has to be placed on each page. For the sake of confusion for the reader…. CD1014 is gonna go ahead and add the widget or button. CD1014 wants to ensure that every reader has the opportunity to be part of the Colorful Dimension Rainbow of followers. (CD1014 is the short version of Colorful Dimensions 1014. Much easier to type out).

HAVING A PRODUCTIVE DAY

4/22/2021 Today has been a very productive day. Linking emails accounts together to linking websites together. I can’t even begin to tell you all that I had to do as its all a blur. A lot of what I had to do I don’t understand it.

Photo by RODNAE Productions on Pexels.com

5/9/2021 Update I wanted to update this post as it had no title. Plus I also noticed that my last sentence makes absolutely no sense. Basically, in a nut shell, I wanted to say that I had been linking Word Press to Wix then to face book then to you tube, etc. I’m sure some of you get the gist. For us newbies this is not a easy task and rather complicated. So its a big deal when it gets accomplished. I can say that today, a lot has changed since last month and I do say I need to give myself a pat on the back. I think we can all agree that we all need to give ourselves a pat on the back when we accomplish something that we thought would be impossible to do. You can see that I have improved a lot but I know I still have room to improve and I still have a lot more to learn. I’m not going to say that where my road is taking me is impossible. I will say I have a lot of ruts in the road and staying on a straight path is proving to be hard. I have recently learned just what a Editorial Calendar is. First time I ever heard of one or I had forgotten from my junior high days in Journalism what is (School newspaper). So this is where I am at in my Journey. If your wondering what it is? It’s basically where you put your ideas that you wish to talk about but its put in calendar format so that you have a deadline to get the project at hand done. Different from a every day calendar. If you are wanting to know more just type in Editorial Calendar in your search bar.

Don’t feel Defeated by Machines

I want to say that I really didn’t want to miss you all but the last few days have been a bit of a whirl wind. I have been anxiously awaiting for a new printer. It finally arrived while I had to go to town for a appointment. While this is not about my appointment or about the date I had with my spouse. I want to just say it was a nice day and it felt good to be out of the house after several months of being cooped in. It felt good to have the sun warm my soul. Needless to say, we were in town all day. (to ourselves with masks on when needed.) By the time we got home we were to wore out. The only thing that I had enough energy for was to open the packages that came in the mail. A nice pretty purple, simple printer. Lightweight and moveable. Unlike the big one we have that is heavy, a pain to run, died a few years ago and its currently not liking me at all. When I reflected back on yesterday, it has occurred to me that I really missed watching people, the smell of the mills, the sounds of the cars, the flowers, the business of the people going into stores, the trees (flowering type) and just so much more.

Today, I thought I would be brave and plug that cute, new, printer in. Um, No instructions, No software, and this could not be a good sign. Well, I got this.. right… Plug cords in and turn on.. Oh got to put the ink in. Shut off and put the ink in. Turn back on. Run up the stairs to grab the paper. Lets see if this little baby is going to work. So much excitement just got deflated when I see these flashing lights….. no paper going thru. Whyyyyy?? Whyyyy me??? This voice says stop and check everything. Cords are plugged in, the ink cartridges are in, button is on. I know change the paper. Maybe it don’t like the paper. Run back upstairs and find different paper. Tried that and nope that didn’t work either. Hmm well, there is another cord and lets hook up the computer and lets try some trouble shooting. Well I found out that HP is doing away with paper instructions. Nice to know! Ha! Yes, found software. Downloaded and went thru all the appropriate steps. Well, that still didn’t solve the problem. HP had me download an update on the software that I just downloaded. Can you believe that? But low and behold it told me that something was jammed in the printer. Really!!! Yep, that smart little cookie printer was right. I pulled out this piece that made me want to panic as I thought oh boy, this thing must have got broken on its trip here. Luckily, I did send an item from my computer to the printer. I wish you all could see how I excited I am over this sweet little printer. I’ve been printing everything that is important that’s been on my computer for sometime. Mostly one pagers, or two. But I have some biggies that are going to take a lot of ink. I’m a bit stingy with my ink for the moment until I can order more ink. Anyway, I just want to say here this has been a long but eventful day. (my computer has been complaining that it has a full memory) I’ve been dumping files where ever I can. You tube videos take a lot of memory. I do hope that I can get back to my favorite pass time soon. The next couple of weeks is going to be extremely busy. There is still a lot to learn, do, and not do. My point for this post is this. If, you get a new machine. Don’t let it defeat you. Don’t be afraid of it. There is always a solution somewhere. When you beat it, give your self a pat on the back. You deserve and earned it.

Cute little purple printer. Blue tape was replaced after use so our four legged friends wouldn’t break the plastic parts.

Happy is not the word I’d use today for how I feel about my happy mail. After a two year wait, I finally have one. Call me happily pink for this month.

Rainy Day Crafts

I’m happily crafting in my craft room on a rainy windy day. This is a work in progress. It’s nearly quit’n time and I’ll have to finish this tomorrow.

Update: 5/20/2021

This beautiful Card did get completed. The geese are 3-D. Geese are stamped with a wooden stamp block (company unknown). The lace trim was from a lacy frame that was cut with a die. The lace trim was painted with Wink of Stella. The Egg was cut out with a Egg shaped die. Back ground is water based acrylic. Flowers are 3-D. Made with water color paper in Tim Holtz ink, using his technique. Flowers are cut out with flower dies. Card base is made with 90lb. white Card stock purchased from Walmart. The centers of the flowers were completed and gems were set.

I can see that it would have been better for me to use a photo of the project that was actually completed. (the only reason was to show that the project was completed for the most part and secondly, that I figured out how to add a photo to the post.)

14th of February

14 February is around the corner and this card is a gem out of all the cards I have made. I’m anxious to make the next Valentine card number 6. Just as soon as I finish rearranging and cleaning my Craft/studio/ photo room. Happy crafting!

Valentine

Be my Valentine is one of the phrases used for Valentine Cards. Valentine Cards are vary and are relatively easy to make. Here in this link to a post on Facebook showing my make of a slim line Valentine Card with a see thru window shaker. Bright pink, purple, and white cardstock. Nice and sparkling. This was a wonderful craft project for any crafter to make. Using a heart shape die to cut the heart shape window to a much larger heart shape die to cut the background and window pieces. Be sure to stamp the background piece ahead of time. Using thin pieces of double sided foam strips to make the shaker part. Filled with pink glitter. This Fabulous Card is sure to warm anybody’s heart. Its a must see and what a wonderful keepsake for years to come. A another post you may be interested in 14th of February
