To do lists

We couldn’t help ourselves creating this fun to do list using Canva. This fun program has given us tremendous amount of encouragement to achieve higher goals and we simply can not go without them. They have created more tools to accomplish more than we can ever dream of so by celebrating Oct 30 as #checklistday we also celebrate #canva for this very purpose.

Our Holiday Plans

We will be celebrating this Halloween with using our to do list to ensure that we get the celebration off to a good start by adding our own wants and needs. Checking off each of the green boxes to help ensure we complete each task.

Larger to do projects

To make sure that we get those larger projects done. We can break them done into smaller projects. Setting ourselves up to get each task completed.

After all decorating a house with goblins, ghosts, bats and more can be an overwhelming task.

The most important part of the list should be getting all those amazing candies in the right kind of candy container.

We also want to make sure that there is plenty of light for all the participants. After all we wouldn’t want to scare the living daylights out of everyone.

What about food? We look forward to some delicious 😋 food for the big day and we can’t go without Carmel covered apples or even bobbing apples in cider.

We wish you all a ghostly Holiday. Thankyou for reading and being a part of our Colorful Dimensional 2 Arts family!

Do It For The Love Of Horses

My love for horses began when I was a child. I dreamed of one day owning my own horse. That reality never came to pass but my love for horses has never diminished. I still try to capture these amazing animals on paper or in photographs. See the illustration below the disclaimer.

Frogs begone

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything. Here I am. Tada! Let me fill you in on what I’ve been up too. I have been creating greeting cards and art this whole time. But of coarse, blogging has been kind of set aside for now.

The Yacking Elephant

Hello Dimensional Readers,

Last month has been a wild and long month. I’m glad to start a new month: August.

Out of all the many things to talk about, my elephant is in the room. This elephant is just one of many. This elephant

has a lot to say and has been pressing me all morning. I intended to be working on how to write better emails but yet

yet this elephant is going off like a thunderous storm. So here is what the elephant is saying. But first let me set the stage.

Yesterday, I was scrolling thru my emails like I do every morning. (The rule is delete at least 10). (That is a story for

another day). I come across an email to read. I click and read it but I scroll up to see a comment made by someone that

I don’t know. It made me kind of sad. The comment was in reference to how they love to draw. All it took was one

comment from someone and they just put the pencil down to never draw again. Later down the road they pick up a

pencil to try to draw only to discover they have zero desire to draw a thing. Sad story indeed. I posted “the I care

emoji’. What could one say? I could not get the right words at the time.

Here’s the elephant in the room. What could one say when one experiences something similar. I can’t say that I have

experienced the exact same thing because I don’t know all the details or the comment that was used. But what I can

say is this. Some people can say the most off the wall things about someone’s art ability whether it was ill intention or

not. With these comments, if not in good company, can be literally debilitating. Some times it takes us years to recover.

I can say this from my own experience’s. All I could say or can say that if you are in a situation like this, do grieve for

the hurt that was caused but (this is a big but) don’t ever set that pencil down to never draw again. this is the worst

possible thing one could do. Don’t ever give up! Being a Artist is a gift.

I know people who wish they could draw. All I hear from them, that all they can draw are stick people. (What they

don’t know is there are other people who want the Art of stick people). My point is this. There is always going to be

that one person who’s going to say something negative. On the other hand, there’s going to be people who say that

they absolutely love what you do. Who would you rather hang out with? The one who said the bad comment or the

one who said those amazing words you needed to hear? I can tell you I’m going to hang with the people who say the

amazing things I need to hear. The ones that truly mean what they say.

I’m truly sorry for the person who stopped drawing all together. Nothing can fix it except for time, and lots of

encouragement from all of us who know what it’s like. Luckily this person has turned to a fellow group of artists that

will wrap them up in art support.

This situation has compelled me to wonder how many other artists (young budding ones) and the old ones that are

kind to an artist whether we like their artwork or not?

out there in the world going thru this very thing. This just needs to just stop. the in justice of it all. Can we please be

The one person who comes to mind in my own world is long gone and I’m very certain that they wished they could

have been more loving and understanding. More supportive and whole lot less judge mental whether spoken or non

spoken.

I support Artist in need of encouragement.

Don’t feel Defeated by Machines

I want to say that I really didn’t want to miss you all but the last few days have been a bit of a whirl wind. I have been anxiously awaiting for a new printer. It finally arrived while I had to go to town for a appointment. While this is not about my appointment or about the date I had with my spouse. I want to just say it was a nice day and it felt good to be out of the house after several months of being cooped in. It felt good to have the sun warm my soul. Needless to say, we were in town all day. (to ourselves with masks on when needed.) By the time we got home we were to wore out. The only thing that I had enough energy for was to open the packages that came in the mail. A nice pretty purple, simple printer. Lightweight and moveable. Unlike the big one we have that is heavy, a pain to run, died a few years ago and its currently not liking me at all. When I reflected back on yesterday, it has occurred to me that I really missed watching people, the smell of the mills, the sounds of the cars, the flowers, the business of the people going into stores, the trees (flowering type) and just so much more.

Today, I thought I would be brave and plug that cute, new, printer in. Um, No instructions, No software, and this could not be a good sign. Well, I got this.. right… Plug cords in and turn on.. Oh got to put the ink in. Shut off and put the ink in. Turn back on. Run up the stairs to grab the paper. Lets see if this little baby is going to work. So much excitement just got deflated when I see these flashing lights….. no paper going thru. Whyyyyy?? Whyyyy me??? This voice says stop and check everything. Cords are plugged in, the ink cartridges are in, button is on. I know change the paper. Maybe it don’t like the paper. Run back upstairs and find different paper. Tried that and nope that didn’t work either. Hmm well, there is another cord and lets hook up the computer and lets try some trouble shooting. Well I found out that HP is doing away with paper instructions. Nice to know! Ha! Yes, found software. Downloaded and went thru all the appropriate steps. Well, that still didn’t solve the problem. HP had me download an update on the software that I just downloaded. Can you believe that? But low and behold it told me that something was jammed in the printer. Really!!! Yep, that smart little cookie printer was right. I pulled out this piece that made me want to panic as I thought oh boy, this thing must have got broken on its trip here. Luckily, I did send an item from my computer to the printer. I wish you all could see how I excited I am over this sweet little printer. I’ve been printing everything that is important that’s been on my computer for sometime. Mostly one pagers, or two. But I have some biggies that are going to take a lot of ink. I’m a bit stingy with my ink for the moment until I can order more ink. Anyway, I just want to say here this has been a long but eventful day. (my computer has been complaining that it has a full memory) I’ve been dumping files where ever I can. You tube videos take a lot of memory. I do hope that I can get back to my favorite pass time soon. The next couple of weeks is going to be extremely busy. There is still a lot to learn, do, and not do. My point for this post is this. If, you get a new machine. Don’t let it defeat you. Don’t be afraid of it. There is always a solution somewhere. When you beat it, give your self a pat on the back. You deserve and earned it.

Cute little purple printer. Blue tape was replaced after use so our four legged friends wouldn’t break the plastic parts.

Rainy Day Crafts

I’m happily crafting in my craft room on a rainy windy day. This is a work in progress. It’s nearly quit’n time and I’ll have to finish this tomorrow.

Update: 5/20/2021

This beautiful Card did get completed. The geese are 3-D. Geese are stamped with a wooden stamp block (company unknown). The lace trim was from a lacy frame that was cut with a die. The lace trim was painted with Wink of Stella. The Egg was cut out with a Egg shaped die. Back ground is water based acrylic. Flowers are 3-D. Made with water color paper in Tim Holtz ink, using his technique. Flowers are cut out with flower dies. Card base is made with 90lb. white Card stock purchased from Walmart. The centers of the flowers were completed and gems were set.

I can see that it would have been better for me to use a photo of the project that was actually completed. (the only reason was to show that the project was completed for the most part and secondly, that I figured out how to add a photo to the post.)

The Journey Begins

Thankyou for joining me!

Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton

post

I started on my blogging journey sometime ago. This is an updated version of the journey I’m currently on. I never dreamed that I would be blogging. I’m more of the person who listens to other peoples stories. I’m the quiet one. I don’t entertain. I’d rather be entertained. However, things change. I have changed and decided that I need to do something that I thought about years ago but never had the chance to or like I said above, I never thought Id be blogging. Hope you enjoy and if you have any tips and tricks let me know. Thanks in advance.

Update

16 September 2021 is a day of reflection and to take notice of how far I have traveled in this journey. I would have not gotten this far without all of you who are here with me to encouraging me along and my higher creator. My hopes is to continue to bring you forward along with me on this journey and see where it takes me in the future. The more I learn will always be applied to the stories so stay tuned to the ever changing journey. You may find amusement in reading the article titled Assignment 2. This is when I felt that I needed to learn a few things. As of today I can say that I still have not learned everything about blogging. I can tell you that blogging is very complex yet so simple. If you plan on following along in my foot steps or someone else you admire… don’t quit your job… you need the $$ to get started and its an on going $$ take away due to the legal side of things. I’m not going to go into great detail about blogging here as it would take to long and there is so many blogging materials out there already. I recommend that you just start reading and take a lot of notes.. think of this as a marriage… its for life especially when you invest what you have into blogging. There have been a few times where I really questioned myself if I was doing the right thing. My response to the that last sentence is “Yes, I am.” Something keeps me moving forward. With that said, I do wish you luck and I will always offer my support to any person brave enough to embark on this journey.

2021 Upcoming Holidays

I’m so excited that Halloween is soon up on us. I’m more for the cute side of Halloween stuff. I’m a zero fan of the scary side of Halloween. This Halloween I’m hoping to add to my Halloween art collection by adding a Halloween banner to the stash. There is so much I want to accomplish for Halloween that I’m uncertain that I will get it all done. For each Project completed I will give you an update from the beginning to the end.

Even more exciting is that Thanksgiving is also close by. That means planning now to ensure that the home is on its way to be in ship shape for anticipated company. Planning a head also insures that Thanksgiving dinner supplies will be on the ta do list. Now is the time to try that new recipe before the big day. We don’t want to forget to think of all the things that we are thankful for and the awesome Parade. I don’t know about you but I have to see the parade. Don’t forget to add the fall candles to your shopping list. Don’t you just love the smells of cinnamon and pumpkin? What are your thoughts on Fall and Thanksgiving Day crafts? I’m anxious to get started on Fall and Thanksgiving crafts.

Planning now also ensures that Christmas list shopping. Feeling overwhelmed yet?? Ha, ha.. Start planning now helps keep the anxiety at bay. Starting a Christmas shopping list for gifts for each person will help you get a head start on the shopping. Don’t forget to start the shopping list for the Christmas Eve and Christmas meals. Find those recipes that you wanted to do last year and do them now, before the holiday arrives. After all we don’t want to serve something that ends up less than appealing on the very day. Now is also the time to think of you Holiday color scheme or theme. What about those Christmas Crafts that you want to work on? Now is also the time to start working on those as well. If you are like me… I’m already feeling overwhelmed just the thought of it all. I know that having lists will help keep me on the calmer side of things.

Have you given much thought to what you want to do for New Years eve or New Years Day? What about Your New Years resolution? I will admit I haven’t made it this far either. I Look forward to the Year 2022. Perhaps, you have decluttering the craft room in mind. If so you may want to take a look at 5 Craft Room Declutter Ideas or maybe you will want to further your education or brush up on skills. To give you some inspiration you maybe interested in these posts to read Assignment 2, Kindness save’s a friend, and Those annoying things you avoid!.

I want to point out that you don’t want to forget the Birthday’s throughout these upcoming months. For all who have a birthday in these coming months— I want to wish you now a “Happy Birthday!” Do you have any Birthday crafts in mind to make during the upcoming holiday season? I do! I will share at a later time in the meantime maybe you would be interested in Using what you have or improvise.
